Restoring Our Ecosystems
Situated in the heart of Lake Kivu, Idjwi Territory faces unique challenges related to its insularity. Geographical isolation limits access to basic infrastructure, while intense demographic pressure on limited arable land leads to soil depletion and deforestation. It is in this complex microcosm that CPR deploys its efforts to open up farmers' initiatives. Our approach does not consist of simply distributing food, but of transforming local production systems through sustainable agroecological practices.
